, partnered with mother Laura Smith started Smith Family Farms in 2009. He recognized the essential move into inspected processing at an affordable cost. His vision is realized in the Marshall Street processing plant, where The Roaming Butcher came to be.
joined the team in 2017 to provide the business analytics and to see the vision through. Jackson studied Finance and Business at LA Tech in Ruston, Louisiana.
is the Head Butcher with The Roaming Butcher. Graduating from Louisiana Tech University in Animal Science, he learned his craft in the LA Tech Meats Lab. He has now been butchering for over 5 years.
is our Chef who began his culinary journey in Baton Rouge and grew into an amazing Chef throughout all of Louisiana. Roger also went to culinary school in Baton Rouge and studied further in Northern California. Since then, Roger has been cultivating new recipes, mixed meats, and a love for local farming!
is the brains of our operations. Her and Craig developed Smith Family Farms and Ms. Laura is on the farm day in and day out to ensure everything runs smoothly. Her dedication and knowledge does not go unnoticed. If you don't find Ms. Laura at the farm, she's at our processing plant helping to package your future dinners or selling to our customers at our local farmer's markets.
Amanda Small is our marketing coordinator. She graduated from the University of South Florida with her Marketing degree in 2017. She takes over our social media as well as covering all the grounds of Red River Brewing Company. She's always around to answer any questions you may have and make sure you're getting the right price on your next dinner!
